Rosarioyhtyjtyj@oapub.orgSports anxiety is one of the reasons why the performance of senior high school student-athletes might be affected. The purpose of this study is to identify the different sources of the sports anxiety of senior high school athletes in Metro Manila. It also sought to answer if there are significant differences among these sources. This quantitative research utilized a standard questionnaire namely Competitive Sport Anxiety Inventory-2 (CSAI-2) developed by Rainer Martens et al. (1990). The research used the snowball technique to choose a sample from the population. The study utilized weighted mean, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) to address the problem. The study confirms that sources of sports anxiety in terms of cognitive anxiety and self-confidence are often experienced with a general weighted mean of 3.11 and 3.05, respectively while somatic anxiety is rarely experienced with a weighted mean of 2.42. The study confirmed that there are no significant differences among these sources of sports anxiety.

Article visualizations:

2024-03-28T14:29:49+02:00Copyright (c) 2024 Mark Anthony B. V. Kozyrevaaa.aaa@aa.aaUmut Davut Başoğluaa.aaa@aa.aaThe aim of this study was to investigate the effect of therapeutic play training on physical health in 10-12 year old children with back muscle weakness. Experimental research model was used in the study. According to the results of the Functional Movement Screening test, 16 children (8 Study, 8 Control) with back muscle weakness were included in the study as participants. According to the pre-test analysis results, children with weak back muscles were given therapeutic play training with 7 different games adapted to increase healthy posture and physical development for 8 weeks and 3 days a week. At the end of the therapeutic game education application process, the FMS test (post-test) was administered to the children again and the results were recorded. The groups were homogeneously distributed, independent sample t-test was used to determine the difference between the research and control groups, and paired sample t-test was used to compare the data within groups. All statistical values obtained were evaluated at 95% confidence interval and significance was evaluated at p<0.05 level. According to the findings obtained from the study, a statistically significant difference was found when the FMS pre-test-post-test results of the children in the study group, in which therapeutic games were applied, were analyzed (p<0.05). As a result of the FMS pre-test before the education program was started, it was determined that 7 of the 8 participants, who could not reach a sufficient score and whose back muscles were found to be weak, reached a sufficient score according to the FMS post-test results after the applications, and only 1 participant showed positive development although he could not get a sufficient score. When the FMS pre-post test results applied to the control group were examined, it was determined that there was no statistically significant difference p>0.05.

Article visualizations:

2024-03-26T22:21:29+02:00Copyright (c) 2024 Osman Şengül, O. Categories of which the research included the human field in young football players, and determined the time frame for a period from 22/9/2023 to 25/1/2024. The researchers used the descriptive approach in the style of correlational and predictive relationships. The research sample consisted of 50 players from youth football clubs in Maysan Governorate. The researchers applied skill tests and extracted the scientific foundations for them. The SPSS system was also used to obtain the results of the research. The researchers concluded the independent variables contributed a high percentage to offensive skill performance, as well as devising a predictive equation through which offensive skill performance can be predicted in terms of some biochemical variables in the research sample. The researchers recommended, according to the results and conclusions reached that coaches must pay attention to biochemical indicators as they are one of the basic requirements that affect athletic skill performance, as well as adopting predictive equations as an indicator of the players' condition in offensive skill performance in the future.

Article visualizations:

2024-03-21T08:29:17+02:00Copyright (c) 2024 Mustafa Abdul Zahra Abbood, Wisam Hameed Abdul Ridhahttps://oapub.org/edu/index.php/ejep/article/view/5276QUALITIES OF FIRST AIDER AS DETERMINANTS OF INJURY CONDITIONS DURING INTRAMURAL SPORTS PRACTICES AMONG PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN OYO, OYO STATE, NIGERIA2024-03-27T16:14:45+02:00Rasheed Mutairu Akandeyjtjtj@oapub.orgAbdul Adekunle Adelajaaa.aaa@aa.aaThis study aimed to investigate the qualities of first aider as determinants of injury conditions during intramural sports practices among public secondary schools in Oyo, Oyo State. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for this study. The population for this study consists of both staff and senior secondary school students participating in intramural sports. The sample size for this study was four hundred and fifty (450) respondents sampled through multistage procedures. The instrument used for data collection was a self-developed questionnaire with three scales and reliability values as follows: Knowledge as Quality of First Aider Scale (KQFAS) = 0.70, Communication Skill as Quality of First Aider Scale (CSQFAS) = 0.77, and Injury Condition Scale (ICS) = 0.79 through Cronbach’s Alpha respectively. The demographic data of the respondents were analyzed with frequency counts and percentages while inferential statistic of multiple regressions was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level. The demographic data of the respondents were analyzed with descriptive statistics while inferential statistics of multiple regression was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level of significance. The two null hypotheses tested were rejected which indicated that qualities of first aider are determinants of injury conditions during intramural sports practices among public secondary schools in Oyo. It was, recommended that the government should have a policy that would compulsory first aid training for all and sundry in the public secondary schools in order to be acquainted with the necessary qualities of a first aider.

Article visualizations:

2024-03-19T20:40:20+02:00Copyright (c) 2024 Rasheed Mutairu Akande, Abdul Adekunle Adelajahttps://oapub.org/edu/index.php/ejep/article/view/5232DESIGN OF NOTI BASKETBALL MODEL FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS2024-02-24T20:33:37+02:00Aisah R. To be able to achieve the aims, the methods applied in this study are interviews, observations, and literature review, with 5 (five) stages of research flow: (a) problem formulation, (b) data collection (interview, observation, literature search), (c) data evaluation, (d) analysis & interpretation, (e) conclusion. Based on the results of the study, a model of noti basketball in physical education learning for high school students has been designed. This design has a guide that explains the definition of the game, the knowledge structure of basketball games, the size of the court & hoop, basic techniques, safety rules, how to play, and the differences between basketball and noti basketball. Modifications applied in this design, namely: size of field, bounce board and hoop, size of ball, number, and composition of players, and game rules.

Este estudio tiene como objetivo diseñar un modelo de noti de baloncesto en el aprendizaje de la educación física para estudiantes de secundaria (clases X, XI, XII).
