The purpose of the research was to determine the styles of coping with stress among the students studying at the schools which admit the students with a special talent exam. The scope of the research involved the schools which admit the students with a special talent exam, the sample group included total 413 students; 226 males, 187 females, having education at the Faculty of Sport Sciences (SBF), the Dilek Sabancı Conservatory (DSK) and the Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) in Selçuk University. Firstly, a personal information form and the Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WCQ) developed by Folkman and Lazarus (1980) and created as a short form by Şahin and Durak (1995) were used. By testing the homogenity and variance of data, the Independent Sample t-test for the gender factor, the One Way Anova for multiple comparisons, the Tukey test for the resources of differences were applied. The Cronbach alpha value was determined to be 0,76 for the Coping Questionnaire. Depending on the gender factor; statistically significant differences were observed in all of sub-dimensions to cope with stress among the SBF, DSK and GSF students (P<0.05). Given the school types, there was a lower point in the SBF student averages concerning the desperation dimension rather than the other two schools as there was a higher average in the Conservatory students’ optimism dimension rather than the other two schools, a lower average in their social support points, these differences were regarded to be statistically significant (P<0.05). In accordance with the school type, differences between active and passive coping strategies did not have stable changes and any specific situation was not observed in the school type. This situation can result from the specific exam criteria and the ability and measurement techniques of the schools which admit the students with a special talent exam.
Different age groups experience different levels of stress due to different causes. The main cause of stress experienced by students is academic tests and examinations (Kai-Wen, 2009). If students are not able to manage examination stress accordingly, it may lead to serious psychological, physical, and mental problems. This study generally attempts to determine the causes of stress among a group of gifted pre-university students in Malaysia. The study also attempts to evaluate the most frequent coping strategies used by ASASIpintar students to manage exam stress and also to identify the predominant type of coping strategies used by ASASIpintar students to cope with exam stress. Questionnaires were distributed randomly to gifted students of Malaysian Pre-university program at the Pusat PERMATApintar™ Negara (National Gifted Centre) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (the National University of Malaysia). All the sixty-eight respondents were from different ethnicity and religion background. The findings show that the highest percentage recorded for cause of stress among the students is the school factor (50%). Regardless, religion was found to be the most frequently used coping strategy by ASASIpintar students (84%). Another major finding was that ASASIpintar students tend to use emotion-focused coping to manage examination stress (32%) more than problem-solving focused coping strategy (26.9%)-a difference of 5.1%. It is of utmost importance for gifted students to have the ability to use appropriate coping strategies so that stress does not reach detrimental levels.

This study entitled Student Stressors and Coping Mechanism was aimed primarily to determine the different factors that can lead to students' stress and how they cope up with this problem. It used a qualitative-descriptive correlational research design to gather data using an adapted online survey questionnaire online to the thirty-eight (38) third-year bachelor students in physical education in Sultan Kudarat State University, the Philippines. The study used purposive random sampling in analyzing the data. Based on the findings of this study, the level of coping mechanism in terms of physical activities, environmental activities, and social and emotional activities are often applicable coping mechanisms when you are stressed while the BPEd students sometimes encountered difficulties in terms of physical stress, mental stress, emotional stress and economics stress and often encountered academic stress. This research used a quantitative method with a survey approach. The population was 340 Indonesian students in Wuhan, China. The samples of 184 students (73 male and 111 female) were taken with a simple random sampling technique. The instruments used in collecting data are the Scale for Assessment Academic Stress and the Stress Coping Style Inventory. The results showed that academic stress was at a moderate level dominated by cognitive stress indicators. Coping was at a moderate level dominated by active emotio...

The sample was obtained using purposive sampling technique and gained 10 students consisting 5 students as experimental group and 5 students as control group. The data collection technique used was the scale of academic stress. The data analysis technique used in this study was the wilcoxon non-parametric statistic. The result of the study show the problem focused coping strategies is influential on reducing academic stress (sig=0,042 <0,05). In this study, our goal is to investigate the effect of coping strategies on reducing test anxiety in third grade female high school students in Hamadan city. In order to do that, we have taught coping strategies to samples in eight sessions. The samples selected via multi-stage cluster sampling so that, using cluster method, two high schools have been selected among all of them followed by selecting one classroom from each and finally, 20 students randomly selected. The results showed that, teaching coping strategies have been reduced test anxiety scores in pre-test conducted on test group. Covariance analysis was used to analyze the data so that, we, initially, tested the pre-assumptions of covariance analysis such as being normal and variance homogeneousness and then, by controlling the impact of pre-test variable, results indicated that, teaching coping strategies have been reduced test anxiety. These findings were significant at α=1%. [Nasrolah Erfani, Mahnaz Ahmadkhani. Invest...
Students are having difficulties in their coping mechanisms with their new learning environment. Those difficulties existed while they were trying to cope-up especially in the case of their learning techniques. This study aimed to take an action on the problems encountered by the Grade 7 students in coping in terms of their learning techniques. The researchers gathered the data from the chosen respondents through in-depth and open-ended interview guide questions as the instrument of the research. A purposive non-random sampling was used in choosing the respondents from the grade seven students. When the data were gathered and analysed, the researchers have found out that the respondents have difficulties in coping-up because of the problems in their coping mechanisms in terms of their learning techniques. These problems include homesickness, hard understanding of the topic, the teaching problems of the teachers, and personal afflictions. These caused the students to hardly cope-up, for they cannot focus on the discussion and cannot learn directly. So, they made their own learning techniques such as concentrating to the class, listening to the teacher and studying hard. To conclude, these students have found out some learning techniques that could top them up in their new learning environment.

Exploratory study on psychic defense and coping mechanisms used by students in the period of the exams session.2019 •
As a consequence of the stress increase during the exams session, the present study has as an objective the identification of the ways of psychic adaptation used by the students. For the identification of the ways of psychic adaptation specific to the exam situation there were used the COPE Questionnaire and DSQ-60 Questionnaire. The results of this study show the absence of significant results regarding the mechanisms of psychic defense and coping strategies for the students studied in the two situations: the exam and nonexam situations. Relatively significant differences, in the limit of the statistical significance of .05 threshold, were identified only at the level of psychic defense mechanisms, i.e. for two of the 30 mechanisms of psychic defense, namely for devaluation/self and fantasy.
