To ensure the validity of the instruments, the Research objectives were crosschecked with the corresponding items. The spearman’s split-half technique of assessing reliability of the instruments was used. Inter-Rater technique was used in this study to measure credibility. Dependability was ascertained by means of triangulation. Pearson product moment correlation coefficient technique was used. A correlation coefficient of 0.73 for the two halves was considered sufficient. Descriptive and inferential statistics to evaluate the dependence of measures of organizational efficiency was used. The study reviewed that, public universities should evaluate academic resource providers in order to produce quality graduates and also to be able to control and reduce operational costs.

Descriptive survey design was used in the research. The target population was drawn from non-teaching staff by use of simple random sampling. A sample of 69 employees was selected through simple random to participate in the study. The researcher used purposive random sampling and sampled every non-academic staff in the payroll from grade I-X. The research employed a descriptive survey research design. The research targeted a total of 676 non-academic staff. The research utilized both primary and secondary data collection instruments. Reliability and Validity of the data collection tools was established through Cronbach's Alpha coefficient and expert analysis respectively. Data was collected by use of questionnaires and computed by use of SPSS Version 20. The study used both descriptive and inferential statistics during data analysis. Descriptive statistics employed the use of frequencies and percentages and for inferential statistics Pearson Correlation Coefficient regression Analysis of 90% confidence was used and findings presented in tables. The findings showed that there is a positive statistically significant linear correlation between HR factors and productivity of non-academic staff in MMUST. In the recent past, the dynamic capability framework has been intensively used to explicate the capabilities required by firms to adapt to a changing environment. However, the framework is rarely discussed in the context of academic institutions. Managerial capabilities have been discussed as crucial for organisational performance. This study analyses the effects of managerial capabilities in the performance of private universities in Kenya. Using a survey research design, the study is based on quantitative data. A random sampling method was used to sample 329 respondents that are stratified into academic and non-academic staff. The structural equation model was employed to analyse the relationship between managerial capabilities and university performance. The result shows that managerial capabilities have a positive influence on private universities performance. The finding provides more insights on how managerial capabilities can be deployed in the university changing environment to influence performance.
