Associate Professor Dr. S. M. Ferdous Azam is an academic and researcher at Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia. He has been lecturing, conducting workshops, training, and consulting, and involved in research projects for many years in several countries.
He received his PhD degree from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). His doctoral research focused on the financial practices and business success of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In teaching and learning, he has almost 15 years of experience in multiple public and private higher learning institutions as a Facilitator, Tutor, Teaching Assistant, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor, which began in 2007. He has authored a leading textbook of Research Methodology (Research Methodology: Building Research Skills. 1st Ed., McGraw-Hill Education), selected as the main text in two universities and three different countries, including Malaysia.
Besides that, he co-authored a Marketing Management textbook (Marketing Management: Integrated Marketing for Entrepreneurs. 1st Ed., McGraw-Hill Education), which emphasises the essential topics related to marketing management by explicitly focusing on integrated marketing and genuinely reflects the reality of marketing, especially in the twenty-first century. This is the main textbook for the university’s MBA, Master and Undergraduate levels.
His research and supervisory interests include finance, economics, marketing, business and management, small and medium enterprises, e-commerce, education, etc. With his diversified knowledge, Dr. Ferdous has successfully supervised and examined over 50 doctoral and master’s students. Currently, he supervises an impressive number of students and researchers from all over the world working in a variety of research fields.
Besides being a reviewer and editorial board member for a few journals, he has more than 2600 citations and more than 350 publications in diversified international journals, together with numerous conference proceedings, book chapters, etc.
