In this study will be addressed first media communication from sociological view in Albania after the '90s. This period was characterized by change of political system. The consequences of this change were reflected in the social and cultural life of Albania. In this study, will be analyzed the relationship between the family institution and the institution of the media, television.
The focus of this study is the relation of media with the audiences in Albania and Kosova. The study further aims to analyze the relations of television media, as a means of mass-communication with the public, observing above all their tendency to transform television into a control tool, namely to influence the path of creating independent judgments. The talk show type programs present in Tirana media will be treated as shows simulanously serving to initiate the public defense of powerful people. This claim shall be followed by the attempt to answer the questions: is the tendency to win the "public battle" one of imposing "the indisputable truth" to the audiences? What is the media impact on them and what transformation do media undergo as a result of the mediatization of society? What is the relation between them and what is their mutual refusal or impact? Does the Albanian spectacle present the current situation in Albanian society or is it an unrealistic portrayal of made-up images? Beyond this, other TV media from the Albanian environment will be treated, together with their impact in shaping the public opinion. Televisions in Kosova will be treated as being in apathy with regards to spectacular talk-shows, and dominated by political tendencies which predominate the cultural discourse. TV opinionism comprises another characteristic of the "Albanian spectacle" which will be in the focus of this study. Does this opinionism constitute a media mechanism to spectacularize the public, or does it comprise, together with the media itself, an instrument in the hand of "power" to control and construct the society? Special phenomena characteristic for the Albanian media in Albania (and its impact on the society), will be contrasted and compared to special phenomena of the media in Kosova (together with their impact). The relation of television with the public opinion in Albania and the tendency to "spectacularize" the society through presenting public judgments will be in the core of the research; while in Kosova the tendency to develop controlled media through information control shall be looked into closely. * Dr. Vehbi Miftari,

One of the most obscure aspects of media is the mitigation of symbols to mold the society. Of course we are past the era of glamorous heroes and the slaying Dragons, but nobody can denied that what was before a need of society for good moral symbols and which was mainly provided by the storytellers and fairytales and later by the theater and the cinema, now is being mostly provided by the media, especially the written media, and here is included the social media also and the internet. But as always the greater the power the greater is the way to abuse it. Since the media will be always a business foremost, which clash with the mitigated role as a good myth provider (the need to establish good moral symbols for the society) is one of the clearest views in the countries that are still in unsafe ground in politic and economic stability like Albania and Kosovo. This paper is a study in comparison between the two countries and how the pictures that the media describes in them impact the ...

News media is responsible not only to inform the audience, but also to induct positive social behaviors through its socializing function. In this context, media has a strong impact on women status in the society. Through her news reporting lenses, media can improve the status of the women, or decrease their power, by creating new gender stereotypes and strengthening old ones. This paper examines the gender inequality in the Albanian society and the mirroring effect of the women representation in the mainstream media. Using quantitative and qualitative methods of data gathering, media monitoring, interviews and personal observations, it is necessary to explain the role and the impact of the Albanian media in the frame of gender equality and women empowerment.
Compared to traditional media, an important characteristic of modern media is that it taps on electric and electronic means and it has extensive coverage. The most important characteristic of traditional media is that it creates a face-to-face communication between addresser and addressees. Modern media has its roots in modernism and is a direct consequence of modern societies. Modern media especially visual media represent the dominant values in the society and has altered the function of family toward more individualism, and individual behavioral patterns. Under the influence of modern media, families are losing their traditional function and are experiencing new functions. A function geared toward more individualism and catering for the individual needs of family members, a function that challenged the traditional dominant values of the family. Among all the contributing factors, modern media in their various forms and comprehensive advertisements, have played a pivotal role in internalizing characteristics of modern world and specially individualism among family members. The current study aims to investigate the new functions of family in accordance with the role played by visual media in the modern society.
