Abstract


Les étudiants de deuxième année du Département de Langues Modernes et d’Etudes de Traduction de l’Université de Calabar qui apprennent le français commettent des fautes, en utilisant les déterminants ou les adjectifs possessifs provenant de l’influence de leur langue officielle (langue anglaise); celles-ci sont d’ordre morphosyntaxique. Cette communication est destinée à mettre en évidence certaines de ces fautes d’une part et à suggérer quelques mesures qui permettront à les résoudre d’autre part. Ceci dans l’espoir de contribuer à faciliter, et à progresser l’enseignement et l’apprentissage du français non seulement au Département de Langues Modernes et d’Etudes de Traduction mais aussi dans d’autres universités et des pays anglophones.

 

Second-year students of the Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies at the University of Calabar who learn French make mistakes, using the possessive determinants or adjectives derived from the influence of their official language (English language); these are of a morphosyntactic order. This communication is intended to highlight some of these mistakes on the one hand and to suggest some measures that will solve them on the other hand. This in the hope of helping to facilitate and advance the teaching and learning of French not only in the Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies but also in other universities and English-speaking countries.
